So it seems to me like I must be getting really old because everybody is having babies.

My brother is having a baby in less than a week. My sister is having a baby in another two months. Friends from back home have had kids and are pregnant. It's strange.

Personally I'm enjoying the lack of dirty diapers. Hopefully I can deal with the guilt trips from my mother a while longer "Well you better hope I'm still alive by the time you start having kids!" I mean I'm sorry that my mom has cancer but I'm not going to make a decision that will effect my life, my husband's life, and my kid's life just because she wants me to have kids this very moment.

Besides, having a kid is kind of a terrifying prospect. That's somebody you're responsible for. It's easy to mess them up. I want to ensure I'm mentally prepared to handle a kid so I won't beat it to death or do something horrible by snapping when it cries at 4am. A kid takes a level of mental maturity that I don't have at the moment.

Anyway, I'm interested to see what my brother's kid will look like. Should be very blonde.
